Reports to: Deli Manager, Assistant Deli Manager
Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.50
General Purpose: To provide Jimbo’s customers with quality juices, coffees, smoothies, and beverages that are prepared in a clean environment by ensuring all products meet the standards and guidelines of the store, to support the Deli Manager/Assistant Deli Manager with juice bar operations, and to lead and support the Juice Bar/Counter staff in championing Jimbo’s Customer Service Standards.
Essential Duties:
· Oversee the preparation of a diverse range of fresh juices and smoothies using organic ingredients, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
· Ensure consistency, quality, and a seamless workflow by diligently adhering to recipes and standardized procedures, consistently maintaining inventory levels (pars), producing both standard and made-to-order juices, and delivering exceptional products and customer service.
· Ensure expert coffee brewing, espresso preparation, and other coffee-based beverages to meet customer preferences while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
· Oversee the serving and maintenance of a selection of organic baked goods, such as muffins, pastries, and healthy snacks.
· Lead your team in providing friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt customer service, addressing customer inquiries, customizing orders, and making recommendations based on individual preferences.
· Ensure the juice bar area’s cleanliness and hygiene standards, including equipment, countertops, and storage areas, are consistently maintained. Adhere to health and safety guidelines.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the manager, guiding your team in efficient inventory management.
· Perform all Juice Bar duties as well as additional supervisory duties listed below.
· Proactively assist customers within the guidelines outlined in our Customer Service Standards and ensure that the Juice Bar/Deli Counter Staff are doing the same.
· Represent Jimbo’s and store management, assume ownership of Juice Bar operations and represent Jimbo’s in the absence of Kitchen management.
· Assist with key human resource functions by enforcing all store/department policies, minimize overtime, train new employees, monitor staff breaks/lunches, and complete supporting documentation in a timely manner (i.e. one on one meetings, feedback for performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.).
· Supervise duties of Juice Bar staff, including minimizing overtime, monitoring staff breaks and keeping staff productive.
· Assist Deli Manager in ongoing staff training, department development and succession training.
· Assist Deli Manager with inventory and ordering for the Juice Bar, and in the proper recording of in-store purchases.
· Monitor credits, spoilage and shrink through effective organization, rotation and follow through.
· Ensure all products meet quality standards through proper labeling, rotation, cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene, and by only selling fresh product.
· Maintain an updated recipe book, signs in cases, Juice Bar PLU#’s, and any equipment repairs.
· Oversee special orders to ensure they are taken care of appropriately and in a timely manner.
· Communicate concerns, suggestions, feedback and ideas to the Deli Manager and/or Dir. of Prepared Foods.
Other Responsibilities:
· Assist other team members in achieving the goals of the department and the store.
· Know store layout/product location to refer the customer to the appropriate aisle when asked.
· Maintain clean and neat appearance in compliance with Dress Code policy.
· Use knives and all other equipment properly.
· Adhere to and enforce all store policies as outlined by Deli/Counter Management, Staff Member Handbook, and Injury an Illness Prevention Plan.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience with Juice Bar/Deli Counter operations with strong knowledge of crafting coffee, juice, and smoothie recipes.
· Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
· Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to coach, motivate, supervise, delegate, and constructively address performance issues.
· Capable of handling several tasks at once.
· Friendly and outgoing personality.
· Ability to understand, follow, and enforce Department of Health regulations, and maintain a current County of San Diego Food Handler’s.
· Ability to travel and/or transfer to other store locations.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
· Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
· Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
Work Environment:
· Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
· Ability to work safely around deli counter and juice bar machinery and sharp knives.
