Buyers Assistant

General Purpose: Assist Buyers with data entry forms, movement support, and ad coordination. Assist senior leadership on BR Data reporting.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for ad/flyer data entry and coordination.
  • Responsible for Toledo data entry for new items and sale batched.
  • Responsible for New Item data forms.
  • Responsible for New Vendor set up.
  • Responsible for Pack/UPC change data entry forms.
  • Responsible for communicating to COO on any feedback regarding scanning/pricing department concerns, successes, and verification results.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining Direct Vendor Pricing paperwork.
  • Responsible for maintenance of Certificate of Liability (COL) for all direct vendors.
  • Responsible for driving Buyer/Director Ad submission deadlines to Marketing.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled Grocery/Vitamin/HABA Department meetings.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining training manuals for Ad planner.
  • Maintain records of organic certifications and also state organic registration. (Reports to the Regional Produce Buyer for this responsibility.
  • Verify all Buyer and Director Ad submissions.
  • Lead/Support Wellness and Grocery Buyers to minimum 8 week, pre Ad promo planner completion.
  • Support scan back volume communication to Finance.
  • Support (Every Day low Pricing) EDLP Report assemble for Finance.
  • Adhere to all Store policies as outlined by COO, Adhere to the Staff Member Handbook and the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Must be knowledgeable with computer applications and programs.
  • Ability to read products labels and UPC codes.
  • Proven organizational skills including managing detailed tasks.
  • Understanding of basic point of sale (POS) system reporting.
  • Ability to initiate a task and follow through to its completion.
  • Capable of providing clear, consistent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • Visual acuity to be able to read and differential long strings of small numbers.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods if time.
  • Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 Ibs.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of retail sales environment and office setting.
  • Must be able to travel between stores.
