Marketing Clerk I


General Purpose:
To provide Jimbo’s customers with product sampling and product information through passive and active demos that attractively displays high quality food items. To provide customer service in a friendly and professional manner that consistently follows the Customer Service Standards, and to support the Marketing Coordinator and Director of Marketing with promotional events.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare food to sample for customers then set up and break down all passive/active demos.
  • Proactively assist customers within the guidelines outlined in our Customer Service Standards.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work environment. Comply with sanitation guidelines to meet Health Department regulations.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the products you are sampling and that we sell.
  • Be familiar with the layout of the store and where products are located to be able to conduct store tours.
  • Assist with cooking classes, lectures and events.
  • Effectively handle general paperwork; invoices/receiving, weekly transfer report in a timely manner.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of the employee lounge areas and marketing back stock.
  • Communicate feedback from customers to Marketing Coordinator and Department Managers.
  • Build gift baskets as needed, and assist with preparation for gift donations and other special events.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend scheduled Marketing Department meetings and all store meetings.
  • Assist other team members in achieving the goals of the department and the store.
  • Use of knives, slicer and all other equipment properly.
  • Adhere to all Marketing Department and store policies as outlined by the Marketing Director, Marketing Coordinator, the Staff Member Handbook and the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.
  • Maintain clean and neat appearance in compliance with Dress Code policy.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic cooking preparation technique.
  • Ability to understand and follow Department of Health regulations, and to complete Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle several tasks at once, work independently and remain self-motivated.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, and an open, friendly demeanor that relates well in small and large group settings.
  • Previous customer service experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.


Work Environment:

  • Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a variety of offsite settings for special events.
